Executive Committee Member Job Description 1. Is a member of the Association. 2. Regularly attends Executive Meetings and important related meetings (if assigned to you) 3. Makes serious commitment to participate actively in committee work. 4. Volunteers for and willingly accepts assignments and completes them thoroughly and on time. 5. Stays informed about committee matters, prepares themselves well for meetings, and reviews and comments on minutes and reports. 6. Gets to know other committee members and builds a collegial working relationship that contributes to consensus. 7. Is an active participant in the committee's evaluation and planning efforts. 8. Participates and supports in person where possible any training/networking activities for the organisation. 9. Is sufficiently familiar with the constitution to note applicability during meetings. 10. Enjoy the benefits of a close association with other like minded business people who are passionate about proactive business in Western Victoria. 11. Be prepared to learn new skills in various areas: Marketing, networking, communication, growing your knowledge of local government and their interaction with the business community. All duties are fully supported by the Ambassador and fellow Committee Members.

Agreed Behavioural Framework Meetings are held monthly (except January) on the Tuesday closest to the 8th of that month. Apologies - You are required to send in an apology if you will not be in attendance. As per the constitution if you are absent for 3 consecutive meetings without sending in an apology you will be automatically deemed as resigned from the executive committee. Agenda/Previous Minutes/Action List/Treasurers Report among other relevant documents will be sent to you a few days prior to the meeting date - please read these thoroughly before the meeting. Arrive at meetings 5 minutes prior to start time. If you are going to be late, please advise of this prior to meeting. If you have an item for the Agenda, please email info@westvicbusiness.com.au prior to meeting date or as soon as practicable. Meetings begin promptly at the set time if there is a quorum of 5 covering a minimum of 3 industries. If you wish to add to a conversation or provide further information, please do so by raising your hand to the Chairperson (the Chairperson will indicate to you to speak at the appropriate time). Committee Members should observe basic meeting procedure so that members would only add to discussion if they have something new to offer to improve the debate. Between Meetings - If you are allocated an 'action' at a meeting please ensure you have completed your action prior to the next meeting. If you are sent an email asking you to respond to an issue, please have the courtesy of responding even if you feel you have nothing to add. (This ensures that you have received and read the email and understand what is being asked.)
